Yard Waste and Household Waste Disposal Information

Yard Waste Disposal Site

This site is for the personal use of township residents to dispose of yard waste from their Laketon Township property ONLY.

NO contractors/businesses/paid services are permitted to use the site.

A resident wishing to use the site must purchase a Yard Waste Card each year, the card will ONLY be available for purchase AT THE YARD WASTE SITE  during its standard seasonal operating hours.

Methods of payment at the yard waste site are cash and check only - and the site will have limited funds to make change so the exact change of $20.00 is much appreciated.

No one will be permitted to use the site until a  yard waste card is purchased.  The site is located behind the township hall on Green Creek Rd.

Thank your for your patience and understanding of the changes.

An attendant is on site to verify residency and will ask to see your driver's license and yard waste card, so please have these items ready and available.  Thank you for your cooperation in providing proof of your Laketon Township Residency each and every time you visit/use the site.

Muskegon County Solid Waste Disposal Site

Laketon Township currently provides "dump cards" to be used at the Muskegon County Solid Waste site on Apple Avenue, just east of Maple Island Road.  The "dump card" provides for two (2) discounted trips to the landfill per calendar year.  Residents of Laketon Township must stop in to the Laketon Township Hall to obtain the "dump card".  Each household is limited to one "dump card" per calendar year.

As of February 1, 2022 - The discount amount that Laketon Township will pay is $15.00 off the minimum truck/trailer load fee or $7.50 off the minimum car load fee.  Residents will pay the other half of the minimum fee plus anything over the minimum fee (fees are based on weight).  See the link below for more information on the rates charged by the landfill.

Be sure to TARP or COVER your load - the landfill has a $20.00 "UNTARPED" load fee!
